. . . as a poem about pancakes and a story about pumpkins*.
And then it grew up and became promotional pieces, website copy, curriculum material and the occasional letter of complaint. Over time, it blossomed into two blogs, informational pieces and personal essays for Momfilter, Huffington Post, Thirty Two Magazine and other print publications. I’ll write anywhere, anytime, reaching for scraps of paper in the middle of the night and tapping notes into my phone when I get desperate. And I once wrote an entire essay on the back of a receipt.
